Characteristics of Mesozoic carbonate reservoir in Ham Rong field, Block 106 in Vietnam’s continental shelf
Abstract
This paper presents the research results on the characteristics of Mesozoic carbonate reservoir in Ham Rong, Ham Rong Nam and Ham Rong Dong area (Block 106 in the continental shelf of Vietnam) on the basis of integrated analysis of seismic and well logging data. By applying various research methods such as petrographic thin section analysis, XRD analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), logging, seismic attributes, and application of artificial neural network (ANN) for building porosity model, the authors have conducted depositional environment analysis, rock classification of Mesozoic carbonate, and analysis of secondary diagenesis processes that affect the stratigraphic quality and porosity model of the studied area.
