Abstract

Scale formation at the bottom-hole zone and in the production system badly affects the permeability properties of reservoirs, resulting in considerable reduction of production capacity. The paper analyses the scale formation phenomenon in water flood system in general and the role, mechanism and performance of scale inhibitor additives. The process of research, lab-tests to production and field-test application of scale inhibitor DPEC Antiscalant-2 at the production wells of Vietsovpetro Joint Venture has also been presented by the authors.
