Abstract

On December 14, 2022, Vietnam and the International Partners Group (IPG) launched a Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). The IPG members consist of Denmark, Germany, France, the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, Canada, Norway, and the United States. After South Africa and Indonesia, Vietnam is the third country to have a JETP agreement.

This article introduces JETP and its main contents. In order to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement in a timely manner while ensuring socio-economic efficiency and energy security in line with Vietnam's policies, the issues related to the development of JETP in Vietnam are also analysed.
