Application of stable isotope (δ18O và δ2H) analysis and 87Sr/86Sr equilibrium to determine the source of produced water in the oil field
Abstract
This data report presents all the analytical results, extracting the primeval signatures of Lower Miocene formation water and basement reservoir water, as well as confirming the 87Sr/86Sr isotope ratio equilibrium between Lower Miocene formation water and clastic rocks of Lower Miocene reservoir. The obtained results have assured the method applicability, and it should be recommended to continue the further lab works of environmental isotope analysis as proposed to identify where the formation water of Su Tu Den South West basement reservoir comes from and obtain the information about its flow path.
