Abstract

The Nam Con Son basin has a greatly complicated geology, particularly temperature as high as 200oC and the
reservoir pressure gradient up to 2MPa/100m. A high pressure high temperature (HPHT) environment contains many potential risks and complexity for drilling and cementing job, which is critical to the well quality and safety.
The results of studying the effects of HPHT on the mechanical properties of the cement bond will be the important basis to prepare cementing formula with high efficiency and safety for the high pressure high temperature wells in the Nam Con Son basin.
