Weighted cement slurry and their use for oil and gas well cementing in Nam Con Son basin
Abstract
Heavy cement slurry is commonly used for well cementing in high pressure reservoir conditions. The paper presents the theoretical basis for adjustment of the density of cement slurry for oil and gas well cementing by changing the water content or using additives to increase slurry density. It also reports the results of experimental work on the eff ect of heavy slurry on fl exural strength - one of the basic parameters of physical properties, which characterise the working ability of cement stone in the wells. From the results of theoretical research and analysis of the actual geological conditions, the authors made recommendations for improvement of the efficiency of heavy cement slurry used for cementing wells in the Nam Con Son basin.
